  • Ivan Gruber
    Ivan Gruber was a participant in an international double degree Ph.D. program – he studied at the Cybernetics department of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and also at the ITMO University in Saint Petersburg simultaneously. He finished both studies successfully at the end of 2019. Now he is a researcher at NTIS research center and he also teaches Computer Vision. He specializes in machine learning.

  • Miroslav Hlaváč
    Miroslav Hlaváč is a PhD candidate at Department of Cybernetics at the University of West Bohemia and researcher at NTIS research centre. He is also a participant of double degree programme through Erasmus+ at ITMO University SPB, RF. He specializes in lip reading and neural networks.

  • Marek Hrúz
    Marek Hrúz completed his master’s degree in Cybernetics in Pilsen in 2006. He finished his doctoral studies with a successful defense of the thesis entitled “Extraction of Signs for Automatic Sign Language Processing” in 2013. Today, he focuses on artificial intelligence, mainly machine learning,  image recognition and signal processing. He also teaches Computer Vision Methods.

  • Pavel Jedlička
    Pavel Jedlička was born in 1984 in Plzen, Czech Republic. He received his M.S. degree in Cybernetics from the University of West Bohemia (UWB), Plzen, Czech Republic in 2014. As a PhD candidate at the Department of Cybernetics, UWB, his research interests focus on 3D scanning and motion capture analysis. The focus of his work lies in the analysis and synthesis of sign language.

  • Miroslav Jiřík
    Miroslav Jirik was born in Klatovy, Czech Republic in 1984. He received his Bc. and Ing. (similar to M.S.) degree in cybernetics from the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen, Czech Republic (UWB) , in 2006 and 2008 respectively. 2017 he graduated PhD with dissertation theme: “Image analysis of the parenchymatous organs and their blood-vessel structure”. Now he works in research center Biomedical Center of the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen and NTIS – New Technologies for the Information Society.

  • Jakub Kanis
    Jakub Kanis received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of West Bohemia, Czech Republic, in 2009.
    He is now Assistant Professor at Department of Cybernetics, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of West Bohemia and Senior Researcher at NTIS – New Technologies for the Information Society. His main research interests concern artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision and natural language processing. Mr. Kanis’ awards and honors include the first prize of The international competition Hands 2019 – Challenge in the task of “Depth-Based 3D Hand Pose Estimation while Interacting with Objects”.

    Petr Neduchal is a PhD at cybernetics department and researcher at NTIS research centre. He is particularly active in the area of Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM). Moreover, he is interested in computer vision, mobile robotics and machine learning tasks.

    Tomáš Ryba was born in 1985 in Plzen, Czech Republic.
